“Birdie Wing -Golf Girls’ Story-” Anime Announces April 5 Premiere Date With Promo Video
The official website for the original anime “Birdie Wing -Golf Girls’ Story-” released a new promotional video announcing the premiere date and additional cast. The sport anime is set to premiere on April 5, 2022.
The story is described as “a youth story centering on two young women golfers named Eve and Aoi Amawashi. The two come from completely different backgrounds, and have the completely opposite play styles, and together they will shake the world of golf.” The opening song is "Venus Line" by Kohmi Hirose is previewed in the promo. It was previously announced that Tsukuyomi is performing the anime's ending theme song "Yodaka".
The anime stars Akari Kito as “Eve” and Asami Seto as “Aoi”. The new cast members include: Yuko Kaida as “Seira Amawashi”, Aoi's mother. CEO Tatsumi has grown the Tenwashi Group, which she inherited from her father, into a large global company. She is a former professional golfer and a prize queen. She is working hard to make her Aoi successful in the golf world.
Sayaka Kinoshita as “Klein Clara”, a woman running a bar in a slum. She lives with Eve and Lily. She is like an older sister and is like a parent to the refugee orphans Emily, Charlotte and Jessica.
“Birdie Wing” Website Synopsis: Nafres, a country in Europe. Eve, who has a genius golf skill, spends her days earning money by betting golf for her life. One day, she meets the elite golfer Tenwa Aoi, the daughter of a large company. Two geniuses living in a completely different world. It was only one shot that shot through each other's hearts. Eve of the rainbow-colored bullet "Rainbow Bullet", Aoi, an innocent tyrant who enjoys playing golf purely without pressure. The two are attracted to each other, influenced by each other, and change. A golf girls story where talents collide with each other. The world's first original anime series with the theme of women's golf has begun!
Takayuki Inagaki will be directing the series with Yousuke Kuroda as scriptwriter. Professional golf coach and Junior World Golf Championship Japan team coach, Toru Inoue, will be overseeing the anime. Kohmi Hirose will be performing the theme song. Bandai Namco Pictures is producing the anime in association with the Global Golf Media Group Company.
