Crunchyroll Announces “Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club” Season 2 English Dub

Streamer Crunchyroll announced the English dubbing cast for second season of “Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club”. The English dub is set to premiere on April 16, 2022. Season 2 is currently being simulcast on Crunchyroll as part of their Spring 2022 Anime Season lineup.

The English dub stars: Madeline Dorroh as “Yu Takasaki”, Suzie Yeung as “Ayumu Uehara”, Kayli Mills as “Kasumi Nakasu”, Jill Harris as “Shizuku Osaka”, Shara Kirby as “Karin Asaka”, Daisy Guevara as “Ai MIyashita”, Lindsay Seidel as “Kanata Konoe”, Laura Stahl as “Setsuna Yuki”, Lisa Reimold as “Emma Verde”, Hayden Daviau as “Rina Tennoji”, and Alexis Tipton as “Jennifer”.

The new English dub cast members include: Caitlin Myers as “Shioriko Mifune”, Lindsay Sheppard as “Mia Taylor”, and Courtney Lin as “Zhong Lanzhu”. Casting and ADR Director is Megan Shipman.

The main staff from season 1 returned for the new season of the idol anime with Hajime Yatate, the collective pseudonym for the staff of Sunrise, being credited for production, and Bandai Namco Filmworks.

The first season of “Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club” premiered in October 2020 and is currently streaming on Funimation and Crunchyroll in subtitles and English dubbing.

Season 1 Synopsis: Nijigasaki High School is known for their diverse subjects and the freedom they give to students. Second-year student Yu Takasaki has been turned on to the charms of school idols, so she knocks on the door of the School Idol Club with her friend, Ayumu Uehara. Sometimes friends, sometimes rivals, the members of this club each contribute their own thoughts and motivations to the group.

The “Love Live!” franchise is a multimedia project that includes anime, manga, light novels, music and video games. “Love Live! School Idol Project” TV anime premiered in 2013 with a 13-episode first season. The series continued with a second season in 2014. “Love Live! The School Idol Movie”, which was a sequel to the TV anime, was released in 2015. Seasons 1, 2 and the movie are available to stream on Funimation in subtitles and English dubbing.

“Love Live! Sunshine!!” TV anime Season 1 premiered in 2016. Followed by Season 2 premiered in 2017 and then “Love Live! Sunshine!! The School Idol Movie Over the Rainbow” anime film in 2019. Seasons 1 and 2 can currently be steamed on Crunchyroll and Funimation in subtitles and English dubbing. The anime series and film are also available on blu-ray.

The TV anime “Love Live! Superstar!!” premiered in July 2021 on Funimation. Season 2 is set to premiere in July 2022.
