Funimation Announces “Adachi and Shimamura” English Dub
Funimation announced today an English dubbing of the fan favorite Yuri anime series “Adachi and Shimamura”. According to their website, Episode 1 will premiere on February 18, 2021.
Originally airing Fall 2020 with 12 episodes subtitled, the “Adachi and Shimamura” English dubbing will star Megan Shipman (Assault Lily: Bouquet) as Adachi, AmaLee (Tamayomi: The Baseball Girls) as Shimamura, Sarah Williams (Liz and the Blue Bird) as Hino, Monica Rial (Dragon Ball Super, Riddle Story of Devil, Blue Drop) as Nagafuji, and Sarah Wiedenheft (Assault Lily: Bouquet) as Yashiro.
Yuri fans will recognize Shipman from her various voice over work including her portrayal of Yuzu Aihara on the hit series “Citrus” and Wiedenheft as Tohru on “Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid”.
Series synopsis: Adachi spends her school days skipping class until she meets fellow delinquent Shimamura and the two become fast friends. Cutting class together deepens their friendship but soon unexpected emotions blossom. As awkwardness and confusion settle in, the two girls travel this sea of emotions without a paddle as they learn about each other’s feelings.
Seven Seas Entertainment currently publishes the “Adachi and Shimamura” Light Novel series from author Hitoma Iruma and Yen Press is set to release volume 1 of the manga on February 23, 2021. Season 2 of the anime has yet to be announced.
