Funimation Announces “Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club” English Dub

Funimation recently announced that “Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club” Season 1 will be dubbed in English. All 13 episodes were released on the streamer on October 30, 2021.

The English dub cast includes: Madeline Dorroh as “Yu Takasaki”, Suzie Yeung as “Ayumu Uehara”, Kayli Mills as “Kasumi Nakasu”, Jill Harris as “Shizuku Osaka”, Shara Kirby as “Karin Asaka”, Daisy Guevara as “Ai Miyashita”, Lindsay Siebel as “Kanata Konoe”, Laura Stahl as “Setsuna Yuki”, Lisa Reimold as “Emma Verde”, and Hayden Daviau as “Rina Tennoji”.

From studio Sunrise and director Tomoyuki Kawamura, “Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club” Season 1 premiered originally in October 2020 as part of Funimation’s Fall 2020 anime season lineup. Megan Shipman is the ADR Director for the English dubbing. The “Love Live” franchise recently announced that “Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club” Season 2 will be released in April 2022.

Funimation Synopsis: Nijigasaki High School is known for their diverse subjects and the freedom they give to students. Second-year student Yu Takasaki has been turned on to the charms of school idols, so she knocks on the door of the School Idol Club with her friend, Ayumu Uehara. Sometimes friends, sometimes rivals, the members of this club each contribute their own thoughts and motivations to the group.

The “Love Live!” franchise is a multimedia project that includes anime, manga, light novels, music and video games. “Love Live! School Idol Project” TV anime premiered in 2013 with a 13-episode first season. The series continued with a second season in 2014. “Love Live! The School Idol Movie”, which was a sequel to the TV anime, was released in 2015.

“Love Live! Sunshine!!” TV anime Season 1 premiered in 2016. Followed by Season 2 premiered in 2017 and then “Love Live! Sunshine!! The School Idol Movie Over the Rainbow” anime film in 2019. Seasons 1 and 2 can currently be steamed on Crunchyroll and Funimation in subtitles and English dubbing. The anime series and film are also available on blu-ray.

The new TV anime “Love Live! Superstar!!” premiered in July 2021 on Funimation.
