“KanColle” Season 2 Spin-Off Anime Releases New Key Visual

The official website for theKantai Collection” released a new key visual to tease the upcoming second season spin-off. The new anime titled “KanColle: Itsuka Ano Umi de”, is set to premiere in November 2022 with an 8-episode run.

The new visual features the characters walking on a hill overlooking the “Sasebo” naval base where they train. The new season is set in a different continuity than that of the first season and film. The new anime stars Saki Fujita, Yumi Tanabe, Aya Suzaki, Inazuma, Yui Horie, Iori Nomizu, Yui Ogura, Risa Taneda, Kozue Hayasaka, Wakana Miyawaka, Mana Komatsu, Ayana Taketatsu, Yuki Yamada, and Nao Tōyama.

“KanColle: Itsuka Ano Umi de” will be produced by Studio ENGI, Kadokawa, and C2 Kikan. The anime series is directed by Kazuya Miura. During Kadokawa’s AnimeJapan 2022 event, they revealed a teaser visual and promotional video with the new November 2022 premiere date. The anime sequel was originally announced back in 2015.

Based on the video game by the same name, “KanColle” Season 1 premiered in 2015 and was simulcast by Crunchyroll as it aired in Japan. The first is currently available to stream on Crunchyroll in subtitles and English dubbing. Funimation released the series on DVD and Blu-ray in 2017.

Crunchyroll Synopsis: Set in a world where humanity has lost control of the oceans to the “deep sea fleet,” the only hope to counter this threat are the Kanmusu, a group of girls who possess the spirit of Japanese warships. The story revolves around Fubuki, a destroyer who comes to the Chinjufu base to train with other Kanmusu. Watch as their stories unfold!

“Kantai Collection: KanColle Movie” was released in November 2016 in Japan. The movie was produced by Diomedea and distributed by Kadokawa.
