The official website for the TV anime “Slow Loop” revealed new key art, promotional video and the premiere date for the upcoming series. The new slice-of-life fishing anime is set to premiere in January 7, 2022 in Japan.

In addition, three new characters and cast were announced and are featured in the new key art with the previously announced main characters, which include: Rin Kuzumi as “Hiyori Kainagi”, Natsumi Hioka as “Koharu Kainag”, and Tomomi Mineuchi as “Yoshinaga Koi”.

The new characters and cast includes:

Kaori Nazuka as “Kazuka Fukumoto”, Futaba's older sister. She is the daughter of a fishing boat shop owner and works as a captain.

Natsumi Murakami as “Futaba Fukumoto”, who is a fifth grader and is good at bait fishing.

Honoka Inoue as “Aiko Ninomiya”, who is a 5th grade and Futaba's friend. She doesn't touch insects or live fish, but she wants to get along with Futaba and participates in fishing.

“Slow Loop” follows Hiyori, a girl who enjoys fly fishing by the beach, which was an activity passed down to her by her late father. On one typical day at the beach, she happens to meet Koharu, who happens to be her new stepsister from her mother's new marriage.

The official website also announced that Pokapoka Ion, the newly formed musical unit made up of two popular voice actresses, Nao Tōyama and Kiyono Yasuno, will perform the opening theme song "Yajirushi". The ending theme song, "Shuwa Shuwa", will be preformed by the lead cast, Rin Kusumi, Natsumi Hioka, and Tomomi Mineuchi, under the unit name Three ∞ Loop.

The anime is based on Maiko Uchino’s manga of the same name, which has been serialized in Manga Time Kirara Forward in Japan since 2018 and currently has four volumes. CONNECT will be handling the animation with Noriaki Akitaya directing. No US distributed has been announced as of yet for the anime or manga.
