“The Demon Girl Next Door” Season 2 Anime Reveals Title And New Key Art
The official website for “The Demon Girl Next Door” anime announced the title for season 2 and revealed new key art. Season 2 will be titled “Machikado Mazoku 2Chome”. The comedy TV anime is set to be released April 2022.
Known in Japan as “Machikado Mazoku” and based on the manga by Izumo Itō, season 2 was first announced back in August 2020 with a teaser trailer. Staff and cast from season 1 are set to return for the new season with J.C. Staff handling the production.
The first season premiered in July 2019 and the cast includes: Konomi Kohara as Yuko, Akari Kitō as Momo, Minami Takahashi as Lilith, Tomoyo Takayanagai as Mikan Hinatsuki, Hitomi Ōwada as Ryoko Yoshida, and Sayaka Ohara as Seiko Yoshida.
Sentai Filmworks acquired the distribution rights to the anime and simulcast season 1 on HIDIVE in the US as it aired in Japan. HIDIVE later released the English dubbed version in August 2020. The series is also currently available on blu-ray.
Synopsis: Yuko Yoshida is just an ordinary schoolgirl — until one day the demon Lilith unleashes her dormant, devilish powers! Yuko transforms into Shadow Mistress Yuko, a supernatural powerhouse with horns and a devil tail. Now she must defeat another mystical being named Momo Chiyoda, the shrine maiden of the Light Clan who just so happens to go to Yuko’s school! But being a demonic magical girl isn’t as easy as it looks, and Yuko has a lot to learn before she’s ready to fulfill her destiny.
Seven Seas Entertainment is currently publishing the manga in English. Volume 4 is set to be released in print and digitally October 5, 2021.
