“The Great Jahy Will Not Be Defeated!” TV Anime Announces Release Date With Key Art
The official website for “The Great Jahy Will Not Be Defeated!” released new key art to tease the upcoming TV anime. The series is set to premiere on July 31, 2021 in Japan and will run for two-cours (half a year).
The comedy anime is an adaption of Wakame Konbu’s manga, known in Japan as “Jahy-sama wa Kujikenai!”, currently being published in Square Enix's Monthly Gangan Joker magazine. The animation production will be done by SILVER LINK.
The cast of “The Great Jahy Will Not Be Defeated!” includes: Naomi Ohzora as Jahy-sama, Ai Kayano as Tenchou ("Shop Manager"), Yōko Hikasa as Ōya ("Landlady"), Kana Hanazawa as Druj, Mikako Komatsu as Salwa, Sumire Uesaka as Mahou Shoujo ("Magical Girl"), and Yui Ogura as Kokoro.
Ogura is also performing "Fightin★Pose," the opening theme song for the first half of the series.
No US distributor has been announced as of yet.
Square Enix Manga and Books currently publishes the “The Great Jahy Will Not Be Defeated!” manga in the US in English. Volume 1 is set to be released July 20, 2021 in print and digitally.
Square Enix Synopsis: The Great Jahy, the Dark Realm’s second-in-command, cuts a frightening figure, feared and revered by all. But when a run-in with a magical girl results in the destruction of the precious mana crystal, the Dark Realm falls, transporting the newly puny and powerless Jahy to the human world! Unfortunately, plotting the revival of the Dark Realm from a cramped, crumbling one-room apartment is no easy feat when you have rent to pay and a job to keep!
