"This Monster Wants to Eat Me" TV Anime Set To Premiere 2025
The official website for “This Monster Wants to Eat Me” announced that the Yuri TV anime is set to premiere in 2025.
The website also revealed the main cast and staff. The drama anime will star Reina Ueda as “Hinako Yaotose”. Naoyuki Kazuya is the chief director with Yusuke Suzuki as director at Studio Lings. Nozomi Ikuyama will handle the character design. The screenplay was written by Mitsutaka Hirota. Ryosuke Naya is the sound director with Keiji Inai in charge of the music. infinite is producing the anime.
Website Synopsis: "I've come to eat you," so softly utters the mermaid Shiori as she emerges from the sea and takes high school girl Hinako by the hand. Hinako lives alone in a town by the sea and possesses an unusually delicious body that is irresistible to nearby monsters. To ensure that she matures to the best condition, Shiori seeks to protect Hinako—all so that someday, she can devour every piece of her. A longing thought comes to Hinako's mind; "Maybe this monster can make my wish come true."
“This Monster Wants to Eat Me” is adaptation of the manga written and illustrated by Sai Naekawa. The manga was first serialized in Kadokawa's Dengeki Maoh magazine in 2020. Naekawa celebrated the announcement of the anime with a special illustration (pictured below). The manga currently has 9 volumes in print in Japan.
Publisher Yen Press is releasing the manga in English. Volume 3 is set to be released on January 21, 2025.

Haunted by a constant sensation of drowning, she can barely go through the motions of her tedious life…until the day a monster tries to eat her! After passing out in the struggle, she awakens to find she’s been rescued by a beautiful mermaid.
