Lilyka Manga Licenses “After School” Yuri Manga Series
Publisher Lilyka Manga recently announced on their official website the license acquisition of the Yuri manga series “After School” by Oshima Tomo and Oshima Towa.
Known in Japan as "After School (Houkago)”, the doujinshi manga is being distributed in Japan by BLIC Publishing, who specializes in publishing indie comics. Lilyka’s website describes doujinshi as “self-published works by usually amateur artists. Though there are many professionals that also take part in doujin circles, doujinshi are a great way for many talented artists to gain notoriety!”
“After School 1” Synopsis: Afterschool, Shinne Hakozaki finds herself secretly spending time in the second student council room with Ichika Uesato, a beautiful girl from the other class in her grade. For one reason or another, even though they are both girls, the two end up kissing! This event is what starts a series of yuri stories between them.
According to an interview with the manga’s author and artist on Lilyka’s website, the manga’s season 1 has “11 episodes” (chapters) and 5 extra spin-off’s. Season 2 is currently on-going with 1 episode.
“After School 1” can currently be purchased digitally and downloaded on Lilyka Manga’s website for $4.95. According to the publisher, “Lilyka is an imprint specializing in the english localization of Yuri / GL manga under the parent company, Digital Manga Inc. Lilyka seeks to provide a wide array of Yuri / GL content ranging from the platonic interactions to more explicit affairs.”
In addition, publisher Irodori Sakura recently announced on their official Twitter the license acquisition of Oshima Tomo and Oshima Towa’s manga titles “Steamy Love” and “Too Darn Irresistible”. Both manga are available for pre-order on the publisher’s website for $6.25 each. Irodori Comics also localizes and publishes Japanese doujinshi in English.
