Seven Seas Licenses Yuri Light Novel “I'm in Love With the Villainess Spin-Off: She’s So Cheeky For A Commoner”

Publisher Seven Seas Entertainment announced during their Anime Expo 2022 Industry Panel the license acquisition of the Yuri light novel series “I'm in Love with the Villainess Spin-Off: She's so Cheeky for a Commoner” by author Inori and artist Hanagata.

Known as “Heimin no Kuse ni Namaiki na!”, the first volume was published digitally in Japan by GL Bunko in February 2022. Based on the popular light novel and manga series “I’m in Love with the Villainess”, “She’s So Cheeky For A Commoner” is a retelling of the original series from the point of view of the “villainess” Claire. Volume 1 is tentatively set to be released in February 2023.

“I'm in Love With the Villainess Spin-Off: She’s So Cheeky For A Commoner” Synopsis: For her to say that she likes me, she's so cheeky for a commoner! I am Claire Francois, an aristocrat in the Bauer Kingdom. During a time when the commoners are rising up, one has confessed her love to me. Hmph, I'm not going to pay any attention to you... What are you happy about?!

“I’m in Love with the Villainess” light novels and manga are currently being published by Seven Seas. The series is both critically acclaimed and beloved by its readers, and has sold over 200,000 copies worldwide in multiple languages. The light novel currently has 4 volumes in print with volume 5 set to be released on September 6, 2022. The manga currently has 2 volumes in print with volume 3 set to be released August 30, 2022.

“I'm in Love With the Villainess” Synopsis: Ordinary office worker Oohashi Rei wakes up in the body of the protagonist of her favorite otome game, Revolution. To her delight, the first person to greet her is also her favorite character, Claire Francois—the main antagonist of the story! Now, Rei is determined to romance Claire instead of the game’s male leads. But how will her villainous ladylove react to this new courtship?!
