“BanG Dream!” Franchise Announces Morfonica Anime For Summer 2022

The “BanG Dream!” franchise official Twitter announced on Friday that the band Morfonica will be getting an anime. The “broadcast” is set to premiere in Summer 2022.

No further details were given as of yet for the upcoming anime. Morfonica was formed in 2020 and was introduced in the “BanG Dream! Girl Band Party” mobile game. The voice actresses of Morfonica also perform their own music and instruments live like the other in-story bands Poppin’ Party, Roselia, and Raise A Suilen.

Morfonica’s five members include: Amane Shindō as “Mashiro Kurata” (vocals), Hina Suguta as “Tōko Kirigaya” (guitar), Yūka Nishio as “Nanami Hiromachi” (bass), Mika as “Tsukushi Futaba” (drums), and Ayasa as “Rui Yashio” (violin).

Morfonica was recently seen in the “BanG Dream! Poppin’ Dream!” film that was release January 2022 in Japan.

The band has also been recently featured in the online mini-anime series “BanG Dream! Girls Band Party!☆PICO FEVER!” 3rd Season featuring the characters in chibi form.

As well as the two-episode online anime “BanG Dream! Girls Band Party! 5th Anniversary Animation”. Both online anime’s are available to watch on the “BanG Dream!” franchise’s Official Youtube in subtitles.

The “BanG Dream!” franchise is a multimedia project by Bushiroad launched in 2015 that includes anime, manga, music and a mobile game.

“BanG Dream!” Season 1 premiered in January 2017 in Japan and was simulcast on Crunchyroll in the US. Season 2 premiered in January 2019 in Japan and was simulcast on both Crunchyroll and HIDIVE after Sentai Filmworks licensed the anime. Seasons 1 and 2 can be currently streamed on Crunchyroll and HIDIVE.

Season 3 of “BanG Dream!” premiered in January 2020 and was simulcast on HIDIVE and is currently available to stream. All 3 seasons plus the first film are available to purchase on Blu-ray.

The BanG Dream! franchise also released three films on Eventive in 2021 including two films focusing on the "Roselia" in-story band called “BanG Dream! Episode of Roselia I: Promise” and “BanG Dream! Episode of Roselia II : Song I am.”, and the anime concert film “BanG Dream! FILM LIVE 2nd Stage”.
