“D4DJ Double Mix” Anime Special Set To Premiere August 19
The official Twitter for the “D4DJ” franchise announced the premiere date for the anime special “D4DJ Double Mix” with new key art. The musical anime is set to premiere on August 19, 2022 in Japan.
“D4DJ Double Mix” will feature the in-story groups “Merm4id” and “Rondo”. The anime special will include new music from both groups in collaboration with Merm4id's music producer Kazushi Miyakoda. “D4DJ First Mix” director Seiji Mizushima returns as the chief director of “D4DJ Double Mix” at SANZIGEN Animation Studio and Daisuke Suzuki will direct.
The franchise recently announced a second season for “D4DJ”. “D4DJ All Mix” is set to premiere in Winter 2023. Season 2 of the anime will include all six units including “Lyrical Lily”.
“D4DJ First Mix” is a mixed-media project by Bushiroad (BanG Dream!, Revue Starlight) that includes manga, anime, games and live performances. The in-story universe follows the groups Happy Around!, Peaky P-key, Photon Maiden, Merm4id, Rondo, and Lyrical Lily.
The TV anime premiered in October 2020 and can currently be streamed in subtitles and English dubbing on Funimation, Crunchyroll, and HIDIVE. D4DJ Global Channel on Youtube premiered in January 2021 the English and Spanish dubbed versions.
“D4DJ First Mix” synopsis: After some time abroad, Rinku Aimoto moves back to Japan and discovers a unique surprise at her new school, Yoba Academy. The remixed beats and infectious sounds of an on-campus DJ concert deeply move and inspire her. With a beat of her own, Rinku looks to start her own unit of DJs with the help of newfound friends. Now they’re aiming for the high stage with a playlist of songs and ambition.
