“Girls und Panzer das Finale - Part 2” Anime Film To Stream On HIDIVE

Streamer HIDIVE announced on Monday that “Girls und Panzer das Finale - Part 2” is set to premiere on February 21, 2022. The film is the second of a six-part film series and is the follow-up to the “Girls und Panzer” anime series.

HIDIVE will distribute the film in subtitles and English dubbing to audiences in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, the Netherlands, and Scandinavia. HIDIVE released “Girls und Panzer das Finale - Part 1” on December 13, 2021

Sentai Filmworks acquired the distributions rights of the films and released the Blu-ray for “Part 1” on September 14, 2021 and “Part 2” on November 23, 2021.

Part 2 Synopsis: After falling for BC Freedom High’s clever deception, the Oarai Girl’s High tank-maidens find themselves faced with an entirely different battlefront than expected. However, Yukari suspects that any bluff that could have been carried out so easily by so many people must have some basis in fact. So, as the other school teams prepare for combat across the competition, Oarai digs down with a plan to undermine the groundwork beneath their opposition.

The films are produced by studio Actas (Princess Principal, Girls und Panzer) and directed by Tsutomu Mizushima (Shirobako, The Magnificent KOTOBUKI). Reiko Yoshida (K-On!, Non Non Biyori) penned the film’s scripts. The films star Ikumi Nakagami (BanG Dream! 2nd Season, Glitter Force) as Yukari Akiyama, Mami Ozaki (Soni-Ani: Super Sonico The Animation, Witchcraft Works) as Hana Isuzu, Mai Fuchigami (Sakura Trick, Assassination Classroom) as Miho Nishizumi, Yuka Iguchi (Ascendance of a Bookworm, A Place Further Than The Universe) Mako Reizei, Ai Kayano (No Game, No Life, Say "I Love You".) as Saori Takebe and Kana Ueda (Fate/stay Night, Maria Watches Over Us) as Momo Kawashima.

The first film opened in Japan in December 2017, followed by the second film in June 2019, and the third film on March 2020.

“Girls und Panzer” TV anime premiered in Japan in November 2015 and is currently available to stream on HIDIVE. In addition, “Girls und Panzer Film” and “Girls und Panzer OVA” are also available to stream on HIDIVE. Sentai Filmworks released the TV series, OVA and film on blu-ray.

“Girls und Panzer” Synopsis: You may have heard of kung fu, but the girls at Oarai Academy practice gun-fu - really, really BIG gun-fu, in fact. It's called Tankery, and it's the martial art of operating armored tanks! And even though the Tankery program at Oarai has been defunct for years, the student council has taken a sudden interest in the art and no one they set their sights on is safe. Which is how Miho Nishizumi, who transferred to Oarai specifically to stay out of tanks, gets drafted to join the newly revived Tankery divison. But it's not all bad, because joining her in Team Anglerfish are her new found friends Saori, the highly receptive radio operator; Hana, a flower arranger turned gunner; Mako, their brilliant, but chronically sleepy driver; and combustible tank fangirl and loader Yukari. They may not be on the half-track to fame and fortune, and maybe some of them would rather shop for tank tops than become tops in tanks, but once their focus is locked and loaded, they're absolutely driven. It's mad, it's metal and mayhem is guaranteed! It's GIRLS UND PANZER!

Seven Seas Entertainment is currently publishing the manga in English.
