“Magia Record” Final Season Set To Stream On Crunchyroll

Streamer Crunchyroll announced the simulcast rights to the upcoming final season of “Magia Record: Puella Magi Madoka Magica Side Story”. The TV anime is set to premiere all final 4 episodes on April 3, 2022 and will be a part of Crunchyroll’s Spring 2022 Anime Season lineup.

Crunchyroll will simulcast “Magia Record: Puella Magi Madoka Magica Side Story Final Season -Dawn of a Shallow Dream-” to audiences in the North America, Latin America (South and Central America including Mexico), Australia, New Zealand, United Kingdom, Ireland, South Africa, Europe, MENA and India.

“Magia Record: Puella Magi Madoka Magica Side Story” stars Asakura Momo as “Tamaki Iroha”, Amamiya Sora as “Nanami Yachiyo”, Sakura Ayane as “Mitsuki Felicia”, Oohashi Ayaka as “Akino Kaede”, Komatsu Mikako as “Togame Momoko”, and Natasukawa Shiina as “Yui Tsuruno”. Animation studio Shaft and Aniplex produce the series. The collaborative team named Magica Quartet, known for creating the “Puella Magi Madoka Magica” franchise, are credited as the creators.

The third season was previously set to be released at the end of 2021 but in December 2021, the franchise announced that the Final Season would be delayed until Spring 2022 due to production reasons. The Final Season’s ending theme song “Music Box”, is a collaboration between musical groups ClariS and TrySail.

The anime is a spin-off TV series to the cult-classic “Puella Magi Madoka Magica”. “Magia Record: Puella Magi Madoka Magica Side Story” Season 1 was released in 2020 and is based on the game of the same name from Aniplex. The second season titled “Magia Record: Puella Magi Madoka Magica Side Story Season 2 - The Eve of Awakening -” aired during the Summer 2021 anime season and was simulcast on Funimation, Crunchyroll and HIDIVE.

“Magia Record: Puella Magi Madoka Magica Side Story” Synopsis: In exchange for the fulfillment of a wish, Magical Girls keep fighting, unbeknownst to the rest of the world. But Iroha Tamaki can’t seem to remember her wish. "When I became a Magical Girl, what did I wish for again?" There is a gaping hole in her life. Something important has been lost. But she continues to fight every day, without even knowing why… Then, a rumor begins to spread among Magical Girls. "Magical Girls can be saved if they go to Kamihama." The original 12-episode TV anime “Puella Magi Madoka Magica” was released in 2011 and can currently be streamed on Funimation, Crunchyroll, HBO Max, Hulu and Netflix in subtitles and English dubbing.

Recently, a new “Madoka Magica” anime film was announced. The new film will be called “Puella Magi Madoka Magica The Movie -Walpurgisnacht: Rising-” and will be a sequel to the 2013 film “Puella Magi Madoka Magica The Movie Part 3: Rebellion”.

“Puella Magi Madoka Magica” and “Magia Record: Puella Magi Madoka Magica Side Story” manga is currently being published by Yen Press in the US.
