Sentai Filmworks Acquires “Girls und Panzer das Finale” Anime Films 2 And 3

Sentai Filmworks recently announced that they have acquired “Girls und Panzer das Finale” parts 2 and 3. The films are chapters of a six-part film series and are the follow-up to the “Girls und Panzer” anime series.

Sentai will distribute the films to audiences, in association with select digital outlets and on home video, to the United States and Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Netherlands, Scandinavia and Nordic countries.

Sentai announced in June 2021 that it had acquired “Girls und Panzer das Finale - Part 1” and will release the Blu-ray on September 14, 2021. “Girls und Panzer das Finale - Part 2” is set to be released on Blu-ray on November 23, 2021.

Tsutomu Mizushima (Squid Girl, SHIROBAKO) returns to direct the next installments in the Girls und Panzer das Finale movie series, which have been animated by studio Actas (Princess Principal, Girls und Panzer).

The film stars Ikumi Nakagami (BanG Dream! 2nd Season, Glitter Force) as Yukari Akiyama, Mami Ozaki (Soni-Ani: Super Sonico The Animation, Witchcraft Works) as Hana Isuzu, Mai Fuchigami (Sakura Trick, Assassination Classroom) as Miho Nishizumi, Yuka Iguchi (Ascendance of a Bookworm, A Place Further Than theUniverse) Mako Reizei, Ai Kayano (No Game, No Life, Say "I Love You") as Saori Takebe and Kana Ueda (Fate/stay night, Maria Watches Over Us) as Momo Kawashima.

The first film opened in Japan in December 2017, followed by the second film in June 2019, and the third film on March 2020. Part 3 is set to be released in select theaters in Japan in 4D on October 4, 2021.

“Girls und Panzer” TV anime premiered in Japan in November 2015 and is currently available to stream on HIDIVE. In addition, “Girls und Panzer Film” and “Girls und Panzer OVA” are also available to stream on HIDIVE. Sentai Filmworks released the TV series, OVA and film on blu-ray.
