“The Vexations of a Shut-In Vampire Princess” Yuri TV Anime Announced For 2023

During the live-streamed GA Fest 2023 event this week, it was announce that the Yuri light novel “The Vexations of a Shut-In Vampire Princess” will be getting an anime adaptation. The official website revealed two visuals and a trailer along with the announcement. The fantasy anime is set to be released in 2023.

Based on the light novel by Kotei Kobayashi, “The Vexations of a Shut-In Vampire Princess” (Hikikomari Kyuuketsuki no Monmon) is being directed by Tatsuma Minamikawa at project No.9. Keiichirō Ōchi is handling series composition with Tomoyuki Shitaya designing the characters. Gō Shiina is composing the music.

In addition, the main cast was announced including:

Tomori Kusunoki as “Terakomari Gandesblood”,

Sayumi Suzushiro as “Villhaze”,

and Yōko Hikasa as “Karen Helvetius”.

Author Kotei Kobayashi published the first light novel with illustrations by Riichu in January 2020 with publisher GA Bunko. The on-going series has 10 volumes in print in Japan. Original artist Riichu launched a manga adaptation in Square Enix's Big Gangan magazine in December 2021. The manga currently has 2 volumes in print. Artist Riichu released an illustration to celebrate the announcement of the anime adaptation. (Pictured below)

“The Vexations of a Shut-In Vampire Princess” light novels are currently being published in English by Yen Press. Volume 4 is set to be released on April 18, 2023. The manga adaptation has not been licensed in English as of yet.
