Seven Seas Licenses “SHWD” Yuri Manga Series
Publisher Seven Seas Entertainment announced today the license acquisition of the Yuri manga series “SHWD” by sono.N.
According to Seven Seas, the manga is “a slick and action-packed yuri tale about two special agent women fighting supernatural horrors!” The manga, based on a doujinshi, is currently being serialized on the manga website Comic Ruelle and has one volume.
Synopsis: The year is 20XX. Tough but idealistic Koga has just joined the Tokyo branch of SHWD, the Special Hazardous Waste Disposal unit responsible for eradicating mysterious biological weapons that were left behind after the great war. Her mentor is Sawada, a woman with a powerful psyche who complements Koga’s physical prowess. Something is sizzling between the two of them, and it’s more than just a shared mission. Together, these two badass women must team up to confront horrors beyond their wildest nightmares.
The original doujinshi (Japanese term for self-published print work) is currently available on Lilyka Manga. Seven Seas will publish the manga series “SHWD” for the first time in North America in print and on digital platforms in single large-trim editions. Volume 1 will be released in August 2022 for $14.99 USA / $18.99 CAN.
