“Girls’ Frontline” Anime Announces 2022 Release With New Trailer And Key Art
The official website for the “Girls’ Frontline” TV anime released a new visual and promotional video. The series is set to be released globally in 2022.
The TV anime will be animated by Asahi Production and produced by Warner Bros. Japan. The series was originally set to be released in 2021 but was pushed back. No official distribution has been announced for Japan or the US as of yet.
Synopsis: In 2045, the earth was polluted all over the world by the Corlaps liquid. World War III broke out, involving the entire world, over housing and food, which are the most primitive desires of humankind. The world after the end of the war was already devastated. While civilization is on the verge of perishing, the war and the resulting labor shortages have prompted advances in mechanical technology. As a result, a "doll" that imitated a human being was created. Its appearance, which aims to provide various services to humans, is no different from that of a human girl, a mechanical life-form with abilities that far transcend humans. That is the "doll". And as the technology developed further, "tactical dolls" with guns that matched the dolls were adopted by all military organizations. Meanwhile, the AI of the military company "Iron-Blood Kozo" suddenly rebelled against humankind, and the battle with the tactical dolls of the private military company "Griffin" trying to investigate and prevent it, begins. The members of the "AR platoon" made up of the finest tactical dolls belonging to "Griffin", are at the same time regaining order in each region with a human commander and protecting the safety of humankind. The new trailer teases the opening theme song by Warner Music Japan artist yukaDD(;´∀`) called "BAD CANDY".
In additional, new character art was released for the previously announced main cast including: Haruka Tomatsu as “M4A1”,
Nozomi Yamane as “M16A1”,
Emiri Kato as “ST AR-15”,
and Yukari Tamura as “M4 SOPMOD II”.
Know in Japan as “Dolls' Frontline”, the anime is adapted from SUNBORN Network’s popular “Girls’ Frontline” mobile strategy game developed by MICA TEAM. The mobile game was released in 2018 and is described as:
“Girls' Frontline is a mobile strategy role-playing game which launched in Mainland China followed by Taiwan, South Korea, Japan and English Speaking Territories. The player takes on the role of a newly recruited commander who must complete various tasks by commanding highly advanced female androids also known as the Tactical Dolls.”
